Brace yourself for a mid‑winter trail challenge: the Frozen Stick Trail Run returns, offering three icy options—5 K, 12 K (“Freezing Stick”), and the full Frozen Stick Half Marathon (13.1 mi)—as the finale of the popular Stick Season Trail Run Series.
Runners start at LaSalle Middle School at 9:00 AM CST, then weave through the rugged Bluffview, Rock Hollow, and Zombie singletrack trails, experiencing varied terrain, undulating climbs, and repeat loops—half marathoners tackle two full circuits, completing two passes through each aid station. The course is marked and chip-timed, with indoor finish-line warmth, podiums, finisher medals, music, snacks, and a signature neck buff for all participants.
What makes Frozen Stick special is its winter trail festival vibe: part rugged athletic test, part community celebration. It preserves the legacy of the former Frozen Feet race and wraps up the Stick Season series with camaraderie and cold-weather pride. Racers and series competitors earn awards in gender divisions across all distances, and those registered for the full series receive a hoodie as part of the swag.
