Be a SUPERHERO for Autism! Join us for the RACE FOR AUTISM 5K Run/Walk and 1-Mile Family Walk on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in beautiful Balboa Park! Register and fundraise today to help us make a difference, promote awareness, shine a spotlight on neurodiversity and inclusion efforts, and support local autism programs and initiatives. Autism now affects 1 in every 31 children in the US and over 30,000 individuals in San Diego. 100% of Race donations support San Diego autism programs, services, and hundreds of local classrooms, benefiting thousands of local children and families, and creating more equitable and inclusive opportunities across San Diego. THANKS to the support of those like you, NFAR has awarded over $2.4 MILLION to local autism initiatives and classrooms.) This FUN, family friendly morning features a SUPERHERO 5K chip timed run, 5K walk or 1-mile Family Walk, scenic Balboa Park course, informational resource fair, children’s activities, music, commemorative medals, t-shirts, and capes, and so much more! Costumes and strollers welcome.

Course Description

5K RUNNERS: The 5K Start is on 6th Ave. between Juniper and Laurel. The 5K starts at 7:25 AM. 5K walkers start immediately following runners.

1 MILE WALKERS: The 1 Mile Family Walk Start is on El Prado and continues across the bridge to the fountain in the heart of Balboa Park and back. The 1 Mile starts at 8:30 AM
