Kit Carson Marathon & Half Marathon Relay

Participants can choose from the Marathon relay, the Half Marathon relay, the 10 X 1 Mile relay, the SOLO Half-Marathon (an impressive 5 laps!), or the 5K run. Race day check-in is made simple, with registration and check-in opening at 6:45 AM, allowing participants to breeze through the process and get to the starting line with ease.
One of the highlights of the Kit Carson Marathon relay is the opportunity for teams to compete in various divisions. There are divisions for Open, Club, School, Corporate, Recreational, and Masters teams, ensuring that competitors can find the right category for their level and goals.
For those who thrive in a team atmosphere, the Marathon and Half-Marathon Team of 5 Relay is a fantastic choice. With five teammates, these relay teams tackle a total of 10 laps for the marathon and 5 laps for the half-marathon. There’s also a Marathon and Half-Marathon Team of 2 Relay for those who prefer a smaller but equally exciting team experience.
Each lap of this event’s scenic course covers approximately 2.62 miles, featuring a mix of trails and pavement. The course offers a mostly flat terrain with some gentle rolling hills, providing runners with an engaging challenge.
As an added benefit, the race course consists of approximately 40% wide smooth trail and 60% paved blacktop and sidewalk, creating a varied and enjoyable running experience.
For those participating in the 5K run, there are various age groups to compete in, making it a great race for both adults and youth.
The Kit Carson Marathon relay utilizes chip-timed live online results, ensuring accurate tracking of lap times and overall race performance. Plus, there’s a live onsite screen to keep relay teams and 5K participants updated on their progress.
