Overview

The Hometown Half Marathon returns to beautiful Danada Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. Hosted by Bodies Race Company, this local-themed weekend run welcomes all with a half marathon, 10K, 5K, 1-mile fun run, Kids’ Dash, virtual race, and “Volunteer & Run” option.

The half marathon, which starts promptly at 7:00 AM CDT, follows a scenic, paved out-and-back through the shaded preserve, offering chip timing, live results, and expert pacing provided by Beast Pacing pacers targeting Boston-qualifier and PR goals.. Despite its forested setting, runners note a dose of hills between miles 3–9, ensuring a mixed yet manageable effort.

Post-race, expect celebration-worthy moments: designer shirts, custom medals, free finish-line photos, delicious treats, and community buzz. Live awards honor top finishers and age-group champs, with kid-centered events and a vibrant cross-generational vibe.

Local runners appreciate the family-friendly energy and flexible engagement opportunities:

“It was hilly miles 3–9 but overall happy! Chip time is 1:54:42.”
