Mark your calendars for the Annual Half Hastings —a community-driven event hosted by Mary Lanning Healthcare, designed to inspire fitness for all levels. Since its founding, this flat and fast route has become a spring favorite, weaving through residential streets, parks, and Lakeside Drive before finishing with fanfare at Hastings College’s Osborne Sports Complex.
Race Day Highlights
- Diverse distances: Half Marathon & relay (teams up to 3), 5K run/walk, and a family-friendly 1‑mile fun run.
- Course experience: Beginning at Hastings Middle School at 7:30 AM, the half shares sections with the 5K and fun run which start at 8:30 AM. It passes through charming parks (Brickyard, Heartwell), lakeside trails, neighborhood streets, then culminates on college grounds inside the stadium. Six aid stations provide water, sports drink, and medical support every 2 miles.
- Finish celebration: All finishers receive a tank top (or tee), medal, and a breakfast burrito. Beer from First Street Brewing awaits downtown participants post-race. The PR bell adds a fun community-driven flair.
What sets Half Hastings apart is its inclusive neighborhood energy. Whether you’re tackling your first half, relaying with friends, walking with family, or chasing a PR, the event blends supportive cheering along the route with a festive finish-line atmosphere. The relay option encourages teamwork, and parking logistics are well-managed with shuttle buses between start and finish.
