Pacific Coast Trail Runs proudly presents the 2nd Annual event set amid the pristine wilderness of the Pescadero Creek Park Complex in San Mateo County. The inaugural event graced our trails in 2019, but the resilience of these woodlands and the perseverance of our running community triumphed even in the face of adversity. The CZU – Big Basin Fire of 2020 left its mark, causing damage and leaving trails unopened along Butano Ridge and Old Haul Road. Furthermore, the winter storms of 2023 left more trail closures. However, our commitment to bringing you exceptional trail running experiences remains unwavering. Today, we are thrilled to confirm that there are open trails threading through Pescadero Creek, facilitating passage to Sam McDonald Park and back to Memorial Park. This allows us to deliver a remarkable course that embodies the very spirit of trail running. Your journey will encompass not one but three magnificent parks: Pescadero Creek, Sam McDonald Park, and Memorial Park. This captivating region is situated to the northwest of the iconic Big Basin Redwoods State Park and to the southwest of Woodside and Skyline Blvd. Prepare yourself for a late summertime adventure through some of the world’s most expansive redwood groves; these majestic giants, often referred to as “THE GROVES,” promise to leave you in awe. As you traverse the pristine landscapes, you’ll have the opportunity to choose from multiple distances, including the exhilarating Trail Half Marathon and the challenging 50K. We extend a warm welcome to hikers as well, inviting you to partake in the half marathon with its generous 8-hour time limit, covering 13.31 miles of pure, unadulterated pleasure.
