Overview

Combine fitness and festivity with the Beer City Half™ Long Beach, at iconic ShoreLine Aquatic Park. This vibrant event merges a half marathon, 10K, 5K, 1-mile Beer Stroll, and a whimsical “Beat the Beast” Beer Mile, all in one celebration of running and craft beer culture.

The half marathon kicks off at 8:30 AM PDT, with the 10K at 9:00 and 5K at 9:15. All routes follow a flat, scenic waterfront and LA River Trail, offering personal-best potential for runners and relaxed enjoyment for recreational participants.

What sets this event apart? Beyond the race, the festival—known as “Shindig”—features local breweries, live music, food trucks, and games. Bring your thirst: enjoy beer tastings from top local brewers like ISM, Long Beach Beer Lab, Belmont, and more, with free samples from race end until noon. The Beat the Beast Beer Mile adds playful chaos—drink 4 beers over a mile while outrunning a T-Rex “beast.” Tagged on to the lineup is the casual Beer Stroll, a one-mile wander around the park with brews in hand.

Each runner leaves with a Key to Beer City medal, custom tasting glass, tech shirt, and free race photos. With team competition, age-group awards, and points toward the Beer City Series’ Golden Growler, there’s motive for speed and socializing alike.

Whether you’re chasing PRs, pacing with friends, or sipping suds under the sun, this unique “run-and-sip” experience delivers coastal scenery, craft culture, and community fun in equal measure.
