Launched for the first time in August 2006, HalfMarathons.Net is the brainchild of Terrell Johnson, an Atlanta-based writer and runner who had been searching for some time for a site that collected all of the information available on the Web specifically about half-marathon races only.

As a runner for several years — by that time, I’d run three full marathons, several 10K races, a triathlon and my first half-marathon in 2007 — I could find plenty of information about half marathon events, but only after looking across quite a large number of websites.
